My disabled friend ended our friendship?

My 25 year old best friend of 8 years was in a really bad 5 car accident on a freeway 4 months ago. He spent a month in hospital then they sent him to a rehab center for a few months. He just got home from the inpatient rehab center a month ago and he doesn't act the same around me now. I had a 2008 truck but traded it in for a car to make it easier for him to get into and also had wheelchair ramps added to my house. I also had a room remodeled just for him and I rearranged everything in my house to make it easier for him to get around. He means so much to me and I just love him so much but he's pushing me away. I even put him before my own boyfriend and my boyfriend gets mad at me. I am so scared that he's going to end his own life because this isn't like him at all. He was such a caring, loving and happy person and would do anything for anyone that needed help etc. He called me this morning and told that it hurts him but he have to end the friendship. He made it clear that it had nothing to do with me and that he still loves me but his life has changed and that he need to make some decisions. How can I let him know that my love for him is unconditional and just because he's in a wheelchair now doesn't change how I feel?
